Job Title: Youth-Specialist Community Navigator

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt: This is a grant-funded position. Continuation is dependent upon the renewal of the grant or continued funding.

Reports to: Community Builder and Initiative Coordinator

Position Overview:

The Youth-Specialized Community Navigator serves as a dedicated advocate for youth, utilizing strengths-based wraparound service model to connect adolescent and young adults with vital resources and services in the community to prevent violence, promote positive behaviors, and foster long-term success. This position requires an individual that can effectively work with community partners to break down barriers of access to the tools and knowledge of TIC approach for adolescent youth, parents, and the community at-large, while also building and integrating networks of support to foster sustained impact. The Navigator will work with the Program Director to further enhance accessible case management and service coordination to youth and families in one-on-one and group settings. This role requires a deep commitment to youth empowerment, community engagement, and the promotion of safe, supportive spaces for youth development.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with youth (ages 13–18) and caregivers through outreach in schools, neighborhoods, and events. Engage diverse, underserved populations through targeted strategies.

  • Service Coordination: Conduct assessments, create individualized action plans, and monitor progress to ensure youth access necessary services.

  • Trauma-Informed Leadership: Promote TIC by coordinating training and tools for underserved

    youth and caregivers. Oversee implementation plans, logistics, and community events.

  • Positive Youth Development: Foster resilience and safety through evidence-based strategies to prevent violence and promote positive outcomes.

  • Partnership Building: Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and stakeholders to strengthen support networks and advocate for youth needs.

  • Program Evaluation: Collect and analyze data to assess program impact and suggest improvements. Report outcomes and distribute bilingual promotional materials.

  • Work collaboratively with Centro’s Community Impact team and perform other duties as

    assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred). Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.

  • Four years of experience in community outreach, case management, or youth services.

  • Expertise in trauma-informed care, violence prevention, and group facilitation.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills.

  • Knowledge of local resources and experience with at-risk, underserved youth.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in teams.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

  • Clearances for child abuse and criminal history.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; certifications in Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid, conflict resolution, or restorative justice are preferred.

Digital Education Facilitator

Job Title: Digital Education Facilitator

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt: This is a one-year grant-funded position. Continuation is dependent upon the renewal of the grant or continued funding.

Reports to: Community Builder and Initiative Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Expand Digital Literacy and Access: Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of digital literacy and inclusion programs to bridge the digital divide and leverage technology to meet the needs of under-served and vulnerable populations.

  • Develop and Facilitate Training Programs: Innovate and deliver tailored digital skills workshops, one-on-one support, and group training sessions on identified needs specific to diverse target populations. For example, digital literacy and career-readiness, digital safety for youth and families, and accessing online educational and workforce resources.

  • Operate the Centro Hispano Innovation Technology Lab: Oversee the lab, ensuring equipment is functioning, broadband access is maintained, and community members are supported in using technology to meet their educational and professional goals. Develop and coordinate volunteer opportunities to expand program impact and reach.

  • Community Outreach & Engagement: Build strong relationships with community members, to understand digital inclusion barriers, raise awareness of services, gather input through community conversations and surveys, and collaborate with local organizations and leaders to tailor programs. Integrate community member feedback into the design and ongoing refinement of digital inclusion programs.

  • Collective Impact & Innovative Solutions: Foster and enhance community partnerships with local organizations, schools, libraries and businesses for innovative and collective impact to meet the needs of our constituents in bridging the digital divide, and leverage technology to address community concerns. Specifically, provide administrative support, guidance, and communications in community projects such as GIS OST map, public knowledge gathering, and more.

  • Offer Wrap-Around Support Services: Collaborate with case managers to connect participants with social services and resources to overcome barriers to workforce and digital engagement.

  • Promote Community Awareness: Collaborate with the Community Engagement team to create and distribute promotional materials in English and Spanish to raise awareness of digital training opportunities, tech-related service announcements, and community resources.

  • Evaluate Program Impact: Collect data on program participation, outcomes, and feedback to assess effectiveness, share success stories, and identify areas for improvement.

  • Foster Digital Inclusion: Provide culturally relevant support, ensuring non-English speakers and individuals with limited technology access feel empowered to engage in the digital space.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in education, information technology, social work, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with underserved communities, particularly in digital inclusion, community education, program coordination and/or workforce development initiatives.

  • Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish), with the ability to effectively engage diverse populations.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

  • Experience in program development, facilitation, and data reporting.

  • Knowledge of digital inclusion strategies and workforce development best practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online collaboration tools, and learning management systems.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Intern

Job Purpose: Under supervision of the Human Services Director, the Intern position is responsible for representing Centro Hispano in a courteous and efficient manner by providing the duties as assigned, while learning key aspects of the position for future employment opportunities.. Bilingual in Spanish REQUIRED.
