VP of Program Operations


Job description


The board and CEO are looking for a mission-focused and process-minded leader with experience in developing a performance culture among a group of diverse, talented individuals. The candidate must be a leader who is able to help others at the Centro Hispano deliver measurable, cost-effective results that meet our mission.  Importantly, the successful candidate will have the skills, sensitivity, and personal confidence to tap into the power that each member of the team brings to this mission. It is essential that the candidate bring efficient and effective systems to increase the productivity of the organization.


Key responsibilities


Working in partnership with CEO to implement new processes and approaches to achieve internal and external goals.

Serve as the internal leader of the organization

Provide leadership, training and support to staff, interns and volunteers.

Provide for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence while supporting an open-door policy among all staff

Coordinate and conduct monthly staff meetings (including inviting special guests and scheduling staff development opportunities)

Recruit, screen, and select potential internship candidates and volunteers based on the agency’s needs

Conduct needs assessments to determine the nature and extent of a wide variety of human services

Maintain database and program records, and submit reports

Act as community liaison with service providers seeking information about Centro Hispano’s services

Planning  and implementing special programs

Crisis intervention

Other duties as assigned by the CEO

 

Key Qualifications


Must believe in the core values of the Centro Hispano and be driven by the mission.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Should demonstrate a passion for leading social change.

Demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a diverse team.

The successful candidate will most likely have had management experience.

The ability to effectively build organization and staff capacity.

High level of professionalism and confidentiality

Must be action oriented and not afraid to take charge of situations.

Solid educational background—undergraduate degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree highly desired.
